The temperature continues to cool as fall rolls in, signaling the start of sweater weather as everyone starts to bundle up. Throughout the planet, Halloween celebrations are in full swing with children dressing up daily as otherworldly ghouls or their favorite Moonblessed. You may find them wearing printed cardboard masks of either a familiar face or yours and running around pretending to slay threats.
Older Prismals have taken to the “sexy” fad and can be found wearing costume variations like “sexy mosquito,” “sexy apple strudel,” or “sexy underpaid lab intern.” To some Moonblessed, it almost feels like being back home again...

As the days wear on, you may notice rotting pumpkins on the steps of several houses and buildings in Lunatia. The foul stench of their unnaturally swift decay has begun attracting all sorts of pests, especially giant locusts, around the city.
News feeds will start issuing warnings to incinerate all rotted food quickly before the locusts swarm further and eat more plants. Several Prismals report that their crops have begun to wilt in huge swaths, leading to a sudden shortage of fruits and vegetation. Widespread panic rattles Lunatia as everyone starts rushing to stock up on canned goods and remaining food items before grocery stores run out of stock.
Just as food supply starts to dwindle, your hunger grows increasingly ravenous. You try to resist, but the incessant rumbling of your stomach keeps you up at night, and a few bites of bread feels like plugging up a dam with a roll of scotch tape. Moonlacing can provide some mild relief, but the hunger comes back twofold the moment you break contact.
That's when the madness begins.
A While your hunger approaches its peak, candy grows where you least expect it. Lemon drops and gumdrops can be found in plant pots, and that flower by your windowsill has turned into a chocolate rose. The temptation to sink your teeth into a sweet won’t leave you until you give in. Should you bite into one of these treats, you will fall into a deep trance and see a dancing and laughing boar, eagerly shouting that he has you! He has you at last…!
When you awaken from your trance, your hunger only grows. You earn a new pair of fangs and a willingness to seduce if you didn’t have any of these before. You will have the urge to drain the nearest Moonblessed or Lunatian that crosses your path of both blood and Chroma — to lure them in and suck them dry.
You also begin to somewhat physically resemble those you feed on with every single bite. Those who are bitten enter a state of extreme pleasure and elation as they lose both the strength and will to fight.

The sudden invasion leaves Lunatia divided between those trying to survive and those starving for just a little taste from their peers. Those affected by this strange affliction have been coined as “Chromsferatu.”
Lunatian officials advise everyone to stay indoors and secure their houses as the Chromsferatu take over the city. If you suspect a loved one may be a Chromsferatu, the local government will also provide you magnetic, Chroma-powered restraints to keep them under control while they work towards a solution. Chromsferatu Lunatians may be safely brought to the nearest Moon Knight station to secure them while Chromsferatu Moonblessed may either be personally looked over by a loved one or also sent to a Moon Knight station.
During the commotion, the boar from your visions makes his grand appearance in Lunatia Square, sitting on a mountain of candy and chortling at everyone’s distress. He calls himself Ainfeil.

You thought you could leave me behind and embrace some other ritual! I’ll punish you all, you foul desecrates, you heathens!
The city’s waters will then start to run with delicious milk chocolate, the fruits on trees and bushes will turn to peppermint candy canes, cornfields now hold rows of bundled candy corn, while the skies will rain chocolate kisses, tempting everyone further to fall under his thrall. The sweetness will be near impossible to escape at this rate, but fortunately, Moonblessed can volunteer in Lunar Scientia Headquarters to work together towards an antidote if they don’t succumb first.
B Those who are willing to donate Chroma to keep the Chromsferatu under control can do so by infusing magical bat-shaped lollipops with their own Chroma. One only has to give it a few licks to let it absorb a sizable portion of one’s Chroma. Hand it to a Chromsferatu to keep them at bay! They will need a lollipop every six hours to remain in control of themselves, so be sure to stay on top of feedings. Do not give any Chroma directly, otherwise there is a risk they may snap and drain too much from you.

It takes a few days to devise, but with the help of a large pool of great minds from other worlds, the Lunatians manage to develop a successful antidote. The caveat is that they have to be injected into the Chromsferatu, which will take the fastest and limberest to accomplish. Volunteers will be armed with syringe guns to fire the antidote at any local or Moonblessed Chromsferatu.
As the affected Chromsferatu gradually start to return to normal, Ainfeil will also start to shrink until he’s nothing but a rat-sized crown-wearing boar after losing enough Chroma, screeching at your insolence. He will disappear before he’s caught or squashed underfoot, but the damage will have been done.
The candy that turned to rot and muck will be cleared by Swiffy bots. Plants and flowers will have to be replanted just when everyone is feeling hungry, drained, and at their wit’s end.
With the continuing food shortage in Lunatia, the generous Amegaharan foxes, benevolent Lyestellum dragons, and loving Calanthen krakens will all be bringing proper fresh food to try to salvage Lunatia’s Halloween by taking over the celebrations at Lunatia Square.
C There, you can pick up a generous food package in exchange for fulfilling at least one of their “fun conditions.”

🐉 The dragons request you wear a regal sorcerer/sorceress costume and that you drink an entire cup of their famous wine (or cider for the young ones) and advertise it to the locals.
🐙 The krakens request a sexy warlock/witch costume and that you publicly recite a dramatic monologue complete with theatrics to honor the Iris moon with deep conviction.
🦊 The foxes request you wear a revealing enchanter/enchantress costume and perform a public dance filled with colorful spells (or fireworks will do) befitting said costume.
🐉 The dragons request you wear a regal sorcerer/sorceress costume and that you drink an entire cup of their famous wine (or cider for the young ones) and advertise it to the locals.
🐙 The krakens request a sexy warlock/witch costume and that you publicly recite a dramatic monologue complete with theatrics to honor the Iris moon with deep conviction.
Once settled with your food package, you are welcome to enjoy Halloween to its fullest. Though many have grown pretty sick and paranoid of the sight of candy by now, the sights and smells of a hot, personal homemade meal made with love never fails to uplift an exhausted spirit.
If you either do not have a loved one in mind to give food to, or neither of you need to physically eat, then the food packages you win may be donated to local hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and orphanages.

CHROMSFERATU ▶ If your character is already a vampire or any similar bloodsucking creature, you may creatively tailor the event to your liking if you wish for them to be affected. The limit is your imagination.
