*BTSB (Backstay Sailor Boys) Mania continues to take Lunatia by storm, and all the city is abuzz with excitement as they plaster billboards of their favorite boys displaying their best boyband pose. Every corner you turn, you will hear one of their classic tunes playing at every store over their loudspeakers.

The boys have become inescapable at this point! Ads and promotions for their upcoming concert are everywhere. Your communication device has also been automatically updated to play their catchy songs as one of your notification sounds. Some may deny it, but the earworm has made its way into their hearts sooner than they know it. But while some of you may be engaging in intense debates on who the best *BTSB boy is on Prismagram, others are starting to get boyband fatigue after hearing the same songs on loop ad nauseum.

04/25 - 04/28 | City of Lunatia | top

With their live concert date fast approaching, *BTSB finally releases their most anticipated full album, “My Favorite Prismagram Girl.” Its title track’s infectious tone has caught on rapidly, shooting to number one in the first week of its release. Now, you can hardly find sleep without that song blasting raucously from those bam boxes on the street.

“My Favorite Prismagram Girl... woah-oh-oh... She’s my favorite Prismagram Girl...” You can’t get it out of your head no matter how hard you try, and the more you listen to it, the more you find yourself tolerating or, gods forbid, liking it. No matter how much you want to say bye bye bye to this bop, you find yourself having the time of your life when it comes on.

 A  You become a diehard fan, spending exorbitant amounts of money on *BTSB merchandise. You fit right in among other simpering and cooing fans. You won’t know what’s possessed you, but you are utterly hypnotized and you’ll absolutely do anything for your favorite band member’s limited merch, even bringing out the claws against other fans.

After the thousandth or so listen of their new hit album, you will notice a new lyric in the title track, accompanied with a key change that you somehow missed before in spite of having dissected the song front and back. Something about this lyric — “Call it what you want, baby, I’ll still call it lust” — may elicit an, ahem, reaction in your pants. Better hope you brought a second pair. Listening to this while holding your treasured merch will also fill you with an overflowing excitement and enthusiasm to share your love for your best boys. Your body itches for dance partners and karaoke duets, encouraging others to perform with you until you make them say "I do (cherish you)".

▶ Step by Step
04/29 | Level 1, Elaran Amphitheater | top

The hyped-up, sold out concert will be taking place at the Elaran Amphitheater, now fully repaired after the disaster from a few months ago. For those who missed out on ticket sales, it will also be broadcast online and displayed across almost every large screen in Lunatia. A floating stage is set up in the center of the theater as hordes and hordes of attending fans all fight for a chance to see the group live, if not to get close enough to feel their sweat.

But whether you're in line for the concert or an innocent bystander, you're soon drawn into an impromptu Battle Royale in the streets outside the venue. Some fans have gotten vicious, screeching, scratching, and shoving aside anyone in their way. They want it all or nothing at all. Steer clear if you’re not willing to push your way forward. Things are about to get ugly.

The stage’s backdrop is decorated with a strangely familiar three-headed dragon design. Anyone who follows Tarn's gaming channel will recognize it as his very own logo. Staring at it for too long makes you feel uneasy. More fans are concerned by Kaya's absence, which Suzaku explains with "a sudden illness".

 B  The concert will start with one of the songs from their new album: “The Dragon’s Discord.” Unlike their previous songs, this one is sung in an unfamiliar tongue, causing confusion among the crowd who expected official subtitles on the monitors. Not even the Moonblessed can understand what the lyrics are. All who can hear this mysterious song, be it at the concert or in the comfort of their homes, grow still and catatonic. One can prevent this by avoiding the music, wearing earplugs, or blasting their own music to drown it out.

Once the audience is under their spell, the youngest member Tarn takes center stage and sings an ominous incantation that begins absorbing Chroma through the lips of each and every Prismal and Moonblessed in his adoring audience. To protect those affected by Dragon’s Discord, one only needs to physically cover their lips. Intense moonlacing, such as kissing, with the victim will immediately snap them out of their trance. Those who lose too much Chroma will temporarily lose their voice, leaving them mute for up to an hour.

As Moon Knights enter the scene, two other members of *BTSB desperately follow up with more incantations, attempting to distract both authorities and Moonblessed to allow themselves ample time to escape.

• Lecter: Hearing his voice will cause your muscles to either limp or cramp to the point of excruciating pain. Moonlacing is required to restore (or remove!) the feeling in your limbs.
  
  
• Rasha: Hearing his voice will cause you to become obsessively enchanted with yourself. You will not be able to care about anything else except your own beauty. You will have the strong urge to hold someone and not let them go until they compliment you enough.

All effects will wear off after an hour, but by then, the *BTSB members will all be safely in hiding.

The incident at the concert is all over the news, angering Lunatians everywhere. The affected Prismals have since snapped out of the spell and have been given proper medical care. The Moon Knights have been working nonstop in their search for *BTSB, who disappeared without a trace.

That is, until a sudden city-wide midnight broadcast from Kaya appears:

Kaya

Hi, everyone. As you can see, I'm healthy as can be. I'm sorry I wasn't at the concert like I promised. I... I'm sorry that we took advantage of everyone for our own goals. I know my fans won't forgive me, and I don't expect them to. But I want you all to hear me out.

The truth is, I love this planet. There are many ugly things in it, but it's still beautiful, yeah? ... It was dying. I can't stand seeing something die in pain, so I thought it would be better to do it quickly and give the planet another shot. Yeah, that's why I joined the Oracles of the Sinless. The Moonblessed caught members of our sect — our cult last year, but that was only one of our many groups scattered throughout Prismatica. One of those groups was us. All of us in *BTSB, no, the whole cult shared one goal: to destroy the world and remake it.

But when the Moonblessed arrived, I saw them do so many beautiful things — things that I never thought were possible. "Looking back on the things I've done, I was trying to be someone... Now I'll show you the shape of my heart." Rasha wrote those lines, but this time I'll make them mine. If the Moonblessed can protect my home, then I want to help them! I don't want to watch anyone I care for die again...

To prove his sincerity, Kaya turns himself over to the Moon Knights and promises to assist Lunatia from now on. Having nothing else to work with, the Moon Knights decide to trust Kaya’s information.





▶ Hangin’ Tough
04/30 | Outside Lunatia, The Nothing | top

The Moon Knights set off for the Nothing, recruiting any willing volunteers to come along. Participants are given LIFE suits to safely cross the environment with. According to Kaya’s intel, his former allies should be staying in one of the hideouts for the Oracles of the Sinless, but he's not sure which, as the cult is always on the move. For now, he gives all possible locations.

The remaining *BTSB members will not go down without a fight. Once the Moon Knights and Moonblessed arrive, they are greeted by another stage performance. This time, *BTSB is joined by their fellow cult members. Tarn’s longtime channel subscribers and hardcore fans will also be present among the opposing force. All of them will be clad in their familiar fox masks and cult robes.

 C  The songs, no longer saccharine bubblegum pop, are now disturbing and dangerous, causing a multitude of hallucinations, such as monsters and layers of horrifying screams. This allows the cultists and hardcore fans to charge at the Moonblessed with every weapon imaginable.

Kaya soon interferes with his own music, his voice intercepting the cultists' song. The illusions you’re seeing begin to dissipate, and a friend's voice might be able to bring you back to your senses.

Outwitted yet again, Tarn viciously attacks Kaya to take him out for his betrayal, but Suzaku is quick on his feet. He launches himself forward and kicks Tarn to the ground. He’s shaking with anger, but his voice is clear as he addresses his bandmate.

Suzaku

I expected this day would come, but I never thought you would react this way, Tarn.

I thought that no matter what happened, we would always pull through together.



Tarn

What the hell are you doing, Suzaku? This world has always needed a reset. I'm just helping it reach a New Game+. It was Kaya who lost sight of that! He left us. Get out of my way, or you’re next!

Suzaku

No, it was you three who never considered Kaya’s feelings! He tried to convince everyone, but none of you considered his words. It’s you who has no right to say anything! After everything he’s done for us, you’re throwing it all away!? Well, not me! This world showed me the meaning of being lonely, but Kaya changed that! You can't tell me why I can't be where he is. I swore to share his joy and his pain, and I swear it all over again — you won’t harm him as long as I stand here!

Tarn

Hah. It’s come to this? So be it. It tears up my heart when I'm with you, anyway… Goodbye, Suzaku! Let’s go, Lecter! Rasha!

Suzaku

Give it up, you guys. This place is surrounded. This is the end for *BTSB.

Once Tarn, Lecter, Rasha and the present cultists are all apprehended, Suzaku promises to make things right together with Kaya and will soon contribute his own knowledge and talents for Lunatia as well. And so ends the *BTSB saga.

❄️ weiss will be watching the concert in her own apartment, so she'll be clueless to the going-ons at the venue itself. i'd like for her to lose her voice though, panic in turn, and go around the city with speech to text and she can't change the setting of the voice from boy band.

♟ a little unrelated to the event, but lelouch would want to try and use his geass on someone! he'd be either commanding them to a) hold his hand at least once every two days to give him chroma, or b) buy notebooks and calendars and other stationary of btsb for him. if it means the other chars nuts just to get lelouch some boyband merch, then great.
♟ regardless of whether or not anyone takes up the previous offer for geass, lelouch will be decorating his apartment with *btsb merch!! i'd love for people to either help him carry stuff into his apartment or help him decorate his room and make it look like a 13 year old's.

As for Lelouch, I want Kay to help him carry stuff into his apartment and decorate it and she'll get all up in his business and chat his ears off

As much as I've wanted to toss Pidonus at Weiss (if the two ended up allies, it could be rather hilarious), I must put focus on Lelouch, because Pidonus will likely remind the poor boy way too much of Milly Ashford.

Being not human, Pidonus doesn't have the same nervous system, so it's very possible that if Lelouch tried to Geass her, she'd be immune... And probably would recognize what he was trying to do, being well-versed in mental manipulation magic from both sides of the equation. Her reaction could be any number of things, particularly depending on the specific command he tried. Notably, she's going to resist *BTSB's hypnosis, so she could give him some leeway on the basis of 'not entirely to blame for his own actions right now'. (This does not mean she will not later make fun of him for the garage sale. Or the bodypillow.)

Would you be interested in playing with this idea?

fasdkgh one of the first few times he uses his geass and he gets found out already......... at this time, i'd prefer he doesn't fail with his geass just yet. it's going to cause a lot of panic in him, and i don't think i'm ready to play smth like that out yet!! would you be open to the idea of him using his geass on a prismal or smth and she sees it happen by accident, and since she's familiar with mental manipulation, either keeps it to herself for now or confronts him about it? esp since the command would likely be the btsb one and he'll be like... "oh, you're here to buy their merch, too?"

Okay. So not trying to Geass her, but she catches on would be fun. (It's also interesting to note that she outs herself as nonhuman, he might actually figure out without trying it that she's likely resistant? And she's usually pretty casual about that information. Of course, if he's under the hypnosis when this ensues, he might not quite manage to piece that one together until later.)
