▶ PLOTTING.006
Bright autumn stars shine across the harvest sky, constellations of rabbits and maidens signaling the coming of Geistnacht, bringing with it tidings from the great beyond all month long. Celebrations increase towards the end of the month with everyone being encouraged to host their own masquerades, bonfires, and communal seances to honor the dead. Young and old don elaborate costumes of all colors and shapes during the celebrations. Excitable children rush for the countdown on their A-FEAST app for Ainfeil’s Feast. At every doorstep, they carol a familiar tune:
Ainfeil eats,
Ainfeil blesses
Ainfeil’s treats~♫”

Many Prismals across the planet take the time to visit the treasured Solemn Grounds located quite a distance away from Lunatia. Every year, access to this holy site is granted to the public, and the Prismals make the trip to pay homage to their relatives and ancestors. Known as the nexus between life and the dead, the Solemn Grounds is a popular destination for large processions and pilgrimage stops every year. Votive items such as flowers, candles, and crystal spheres that project the likeness of the dead can be seen lining beautiful sepulchers, filled with fully crystallized bodies posed in restful slumber. These items, as well as food, drinks and Geistnacht costumes, are sold at the several seasonal mobile stalls outside the Grounds.
During this time, any curious Moonblessed are allowed to venture past the cemetery gates before the Grounds close for the year. It’s a rare opportunity to peer into a gravity-defying emerald water stream that swirls around the cemetery, known as the Spring of the Ascended.

As the days barrel close to the month’s end, perhaps a few items in your apartment surreptitiously shift themselves around. You think you hear a strange howling that comes and goes in the evenings. Sudden drops in temperature bite your skin with a frost that vanishes all too quickly. But maybe it’s just the wind. Everything is fine.
Then, you see it.
An eye etched in crimson.
It is on the walls. It is on the ground. It is here. It is there. It never moves. It never blinks.
It only watches.
The Prismals don’t know what you’re talking about. They don’t see anything.
Everything is fine.

Those lucky enough to avoid death’s touch will notice the growing number of disappearances among the Moonblessed. They’ve left their belongings behind, it isn’t all that strange. Moonblessed come and go all the time. Maybe you can rest knowing that they’ve finally returned to their world.
But at night, you swear you hear their whispers in your sleep. You can even feel their cold fingers across your cheeks and bones...
Desperate to return to the world of the living, the affected Moonblessed are doing everything in their power to reach anybody who will listen. They leave text messages on the device, write words in fogged glass, tamper with the music player, urge you to get a haircut like young Patrick Swayze’s—okay, maybe that last one won’t happen. Unless...?

The graveyard statues will not do anything but cause an intense feeling of paranoia.
The mermaids will not physically harm Moonblessed. They will disappear as soon as the Moonblessed enter the stream.
You are free to come up with any kind of haunting that can affect your character.
Refer to the FAQ (Setting) before asking about communicating with the dead. Anything that isn’t covered on this log will be mentioned on the FAQ. You are free to assume interactions with the paranormal as long as the context is in line with the FAQ and this log.
Attempting to hack, redownload to another device, back up, or save the unknown app will all completely fail. The app has no name. The file size will always display as 0 KB.
Ghost Moonblessed can only possess their own communication device. They can attempt voice calls but it will be difficult to understand each other (and may either sound eerie and/or distorted). Leaving text messages or handwritten messages will be clearer.
Ghost Moonblessed can attempt to warn others about prompt III-B.
You are free to assume any other previously encountered hostile entities for prompt III-B.

A As you leave a few offerings of your own for the deceased, you overhear the warnings of a Prismal: don't blink. Nearby, you may notice the eyes of disturbing statues following you, their limbs moving slightly from where they were last. A few statues may appear to step away from where they were last standing, yet every time your head whips back, the statue remains still. And yet each time you look away, their presence feels even closer and more unsettling than before. Soon, a strange sensation prickles your back, as if crystals have begun to form down your spine…
There is nothing on your back, of course, but it does make you wonder. Although you may discover that moonlacing staves off the paranoia, you can’t hold a Moonblessed’s hand forever, at least not here. It’s best not to stay in one place for too long; there’s a reason they close the Grounds to the public.
B After wandering the Grounds long enough, you begin to hear a faint melody echoing from the Spring. Locals speak of beautiful merpeople that swim in its waters, responsible for ferrying the souls of the dead to the afterlife. As you approach in the hopes of seeing one, a pair of lovely eyes peers up at you from beneath the emerald stream, with hair like blue ink spilling across the surface. Lean in too close, and their slender arms will tug you inside. Open your eyes in the water and you will see images of deceased loved ones from your world and this one, aimlessly floating in the depths and always out of reach.
Nothing in the Spring compels you to swim toward them, but the longer you stay in the water, the more Chroma it drains from you until you are nothing but a crystal husk. It isn’t rare for grieving Prismals to meet their end here, so hope that you can be snapped out of it in time. Once you leave and look back, the only thing that remains is silence.

The Prismals don’t know what you’re talking about. They don’t see anything.
Everything is fine.
A On the 29th, an app will appear on your phone. Try as you may, it is impossible to delete. Upon opening the app, your device’s screen goes black. A large distorted eye appears.
Your device emits a strange white noise you can’t mute — especially when a strange song starts to play in a language you can’t understand. However, the slow and eerie melody is familiar... Sped up, it is the song of Ainfeil’s Feast, backwards.
What Ainfeil wants, Ainfeil eats.
The song stops. The screen shows a video feed of another Moonblessed. They seem to have opened the app, just like you. Something flashes on the screen — a question about something no one else should know: an embarrassing story, a dark secret, a painful truth. Although the question is for you to read, it is not for you to answer.
As you end your last sentence, hands spring from the nearest surface and seize your limbs.
The Moonblessed the app has connected you to must answer the question truthfully. The longer they refuse to cooperate, the deeper you are pulled into the floor or walls. Once the Moonblessed has answered, the hands will disappear.
It's your turn to answer.
Cooperate to escape, and a final giggle from the app signals the end of Ainfell's game. The threat is gone. Your device goes back to normal.
But the app remains.
B Those who failed to escape and are caught by the hands grow colder and colder as they get drawn into the darkness. You feel your arms about to freeze off. You look down.
You can’t see them.
The hands are gone, you are back where you were, but the damage has been done. Your other body parts continue to vanish until you are nothing but a soul, but you can sense traces of your essence — the last vestiges of your Chroma — where everything used to be.
You won’t be able to physically hold your device, but you will be able to possess your phone to use it. If you try to audibly speak to other solid Moonblessed, they may only hear you faintly, if at all. However, a solid Moonblessed may be able to feel your touch if they are relaxed and willing. Attempting to possess other items or other Moonblessed will not work.
Your voice grows fainter against the ambiance of your surroundings. Soon, only silence comes out of what you think is your mouth. However, your new form has granted you access to another plane. You can see now see the planet’s spirits of the damned. Ghosts from all eras and places gather in Lunatia every Geistnacht, from the ancients of Queen Tempeste’s time to the deaths in today's newspaper. Some jeer at you, play tricks, and tease, while others are possessed by their own anger, sorrow, or madness.
“You murderer! It’s all your fault! Give me back my son!”
“I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you! A thousand curses on your family!”
“Mommy, I’m so hungry...”
“Those loans…”
The wailing and lamentations do not stop, and the voices soon overlap, words turning into noise as they drown you in their endless agony.

A For the brave or sensitive to the paranormal, if you can follow the presence of a determined Moonblessed ghosts or somehow sense their scant traces of Chroma, try reaching out to them. You may notice vestiges of their skin becoming all the more visible. You might even feel their eyelashes against your fingers or their lips against your cheek. The more you moonlace with these Moonblessed on the other side, the more they will start to materialize. The deeper and more passionate your embrace, the faster their bodies of the Moonblessed will be restored.
B It’s not only your friends and other ghost Moonblessed that will seek to make contact. The damned will also be doing what they can to seduce you into their embrace. They may mimic a loved or trusted one’s habits: a song they used to sing, a phrase they used to say, or little things like leaving flowers on your desk or unwashed dishes in the sink. If you help them materialize with your Chroma, you may find yourself unwittingly giving form to great horrors. Until the end of Geistnacht, they will creep into the world of the living to try and terrorize both Prismals and Moonblessed.
The damned, the app, and the crimson eye will not go away until the end of the 31st, so be prepared to endure long evenings with ghouls, criminals and creatures such as one of those angry cerberus beasts, or masked fox cultists that were felled several months ago, or even a mutant parasitic plant making its home on your bed. They are not happy to see you, and they’re going to do more than just chew up your slippers and eat your socks!

Kaity : Tenten & Seifer Almasy
Contact:
no subject
Moonblessing: Cordis
Smut Preferences: 18+ (she's 20), start of a kinklist here. I doubt it will come up but y'know.
Log Plans: Possibly making a log post? Might just hit up others? Since she doesn't have CR yet I'm not sure, for both characters I'm kinda winging it for now
General notes: She's new to the game so not going to traumatize her TOO much
but I gotta a little. Tenten is curious and more likely to investigate than not be interested (and knows very little about any tech) so she will definitely be checking out both the graveyard and the app even though it's rather suss. Naruto characters tend to be able to pick up on people's presence most of the time but she's not an actual sensor- so she might notice ghosts and spirit characters but not really exactly. She believes (or at least WANTS to) in ghosts though so will be nosy about all the weird things going on/extra paranoid whether there's actually anything around or not.➳Graveyard: Visiting for sure! Checking things out, constantly keeping an eye on the statues. Armed to the teeth so maybe be careful sneaking up on her. But she'll be okay with buddying up to moonlace her way through.
Her curiousness will get her pulled in the water, where she'll see Neji. She won't immediately surface but will notice feeling strange/losing chroma quickly and force herself to leave. Then have lots of feelings. All of them. She'll try to warn people/be there to pull them free after!
➳Death Becomes You: There's really not much said about her past but she is a child soldier who basically gets paid to fight and murder so, some things to learn about her lol. For the most part she'll tell the truth, especially after she experiences what can happen if she doesn't. She won't be turning into a ghost herself but is open minded enough to notice others who try to reach out and will try to help.
➳Unchained Melody: She's a little too perceptive/paranoid to be lured into believing anyone she misses is trying to materialize, but will probably be haunted some anyway. Ignoring it, having some more feelings about it.
She will, again, be willing to help ghosty characters out though, after experiencing some of the other things going on previously she'll probably figure out pretty quickly that moonlacing helps. Won't be drawing out any nasties herself but will absolutely jump into fights to help others. LETS PUNCH A GHOST.

Moonblessing: Sanguis
Smut Preferences: 18+ (he's 19), pretty much the same prefs as Ten, if it comes up
Log Plans: This event pings Tenten much more so will probably just tag out with Seifer instead of making him his own log, but subject to change!
Seifer will probably visit the graveyard cause why not it's open and rpg characters look for items everywhere. He doesn't have any memories of lost friends or family though and will probably not stick around long once he gets the creeps. He's not the most sensitive so not a great choice to comfort after being pulled from the water but he's not heartless either, he'll make sure anyone he drags out is okay and help them back out of the graveyard.
The app looks fun though! He knows about his "bad guy" future waiting for him back home so lots of awful things he doesn't really address or bring up to other people. Maybe he'll turn into a ghost.
Moonlacing can definitely be a thing, working together for the greater good etc etc. Again... not a lot of close loved ones back home so he probably won't get drawn into believing they're around but he wants to be a hero so he'll help out if he sees others in distress.
No real solid plans for him but I'd like for him to get out more since rl kinda kicked me down after he got accepted and I didn't get to get him out as much as I wanted to initially.
