▶ PLOTTING.004
Previously, the Prismals extended an invite to any willing Moonblessed to travel to Amegahara, the Oasis in the Nothing. Testing and training was properly conducted over the weeks to prepare them for what’s ahead. This included how to wear the specialized LIFE suits and how to use their flying transport mecha, GIGA — both now fully operational and properly configured for Moonblessed usage thanks to the help of those who helped in their test runs.
▶ Chasing the Rabbit
Days 1-3: Level 1, Moon Knights Headquarters and Lunar Scientia Headquarters | top
With testing completed, the last stages of training has been reached and those still interested will be gathered at the Moon Knights Headquarters in Level 1. Here, they will be given a final test before they are given full clearance. Those who choose to remain in Lunatia have the option of heading to Lunar Scientia Headquarters where they can volunteer at the control station and provide navigational assistance.
For emergencies, the GIGA can be maneuvered remotely (limited to movement only, weapons and other features can’t be controlled) in case anyone is in danger or tries to fly out of the restricted air space. The control station has access to the emergency remote control in case pilots become mentally or physically incapacitated to continue flying. The staff will provide training and know-how for volunteers, teaching them about reading GPS, radars, and heat signatures.
As a side effect of lengthy use of neural cords, pilots may continue to hear stray thoughts or experience hallucinations derived from the minds of their co-pilots. This might make it a struggle to adjust to their surroundings or sleep comfortably tonight. In order to help them adapt to the overstimulation and improve their overall well-being, the researchers encourage a continued transferral of chroma through vigorous moonlacing between pilots.

▶ Journey to the Center of the Nothing
Day 4: Level 1, Crystarium Moonports | top
On the day of the launch, Grand Scientist Mayar and Magister Scientiae Alcmene bid their formal farewells to the Conclave of Amegahara then proceeds to deliver a speech city-wide. Every television and radio station seem to be broadcasting live.
Magister Scientiae Alcmene and Grand Scientist Mayar
Magister Scientiae Alcmene: We stand on the precipice of a great discovery! Today, Lunatia is making history as we travel across previously uncharted lands! I—
Grand Scientist Mayar: Calling someone else’s homeland as uncharted?
Magister Scientiae Alcmene: I’m sorry, that was a terrible joke! Ahem! We are soon to witness another historical moment with the Moonblessed. Counting this month, it’s been six months since the first Moonblessed appeared in our universe and came to Lunatia. Then four months ago, they’ve left our city for the first time and came to Lyestellus. All this time, they’ve always helped us and our planet. There’s still much we don’t know about them, but I’m confident that we’ll understand more in time.
Now, they’re coming to Amegahara! We will continue to walk alongside them! None of this would’ve been possible without our special guests, the Amegaharans who generously shared their technology and knowledge, as well as the tireless contributions of the Lunar Scientia. On behalf of both Lunatia and Amegahara, we are also fully grateful for the cooperation of the Moonblessed!
Grand Scientist Mayar: Indeed. We are pleased to say that the GIGA units have functioned beyond expectations with the addition of pure chroma. There shouldn’t have any issues from now on. We have confidence the Moonblessed will most likely leave a positive effect in the Oasis in the Nothing. Naturally, we can’t predict everything accurately rest assured that we will be prepared for every possible scenario. As Alcmene said, we’ll be there every step of the way.
Pilots and control station volunteers, take your positions! Don't forget to give those leaving a good luck kiss — the age-old custom of pressing lips together before heading out gives them a much-needed energy boost especially if they were unable to sleep well last night. The journey will be a long and arduous one, but each GIGA will come equipped with enough supplies to last one round trip. Grand Scientist Mayar will be leading the expedition along with Magister Scientiae Alcmene in their own mecha unit.
As the Moonblessed fly over the Nothing, they see a blinding white expanse of barren desert, drained of any form of life. With every minute that passes, it’s becoming increasingly unbelievable that anyone can manage living out here. The sweltering heat does nothing to comfort you in this arid climate. Fortunately, the GIGAs are equipped with coolants to keep everyone’s temperature regulated, and there’s available drinking water and other necessities in each GIGA’s storage.
Those who lost their unit after the battle will have to transfer to another GIGA for the rest of the way. Thankfully, they’ll be informed that Amegahara is only a few remaining miles away and that the nearby city has already been made aware of their arrival. The temperatures fall below 10 °C at night so a number of excited-looking Amegaharans from the city will eventually come around to collect them with blankets on hand and hot tea ready.

Day 5-6: The Nothing, Amegahara | top
Amegahara is a lush oasis secured in a glowing bubble that separates and protects it from the harsh elements of the Nothing. The cityscape is very beautiful and well-structured, paved with neon walkways and covered in traditional far eastern arcs and lanterns, which glow blue on the streets. Holograms seem to fill every display of their main district along with colorful sparkles in the reflection of each window. For some reason, almost every street has at least one food stall or cafe selling doughnuts. They say it’s a local craze.
Like the locals from Lunatia, the residents here range from those naturally suspicious of outsiders to those who are curious and show a desire to open up relations. Their leader is Lord Bairen, a large, muscular fox dressed in a kimono robe that barely covers his chest. He will greet the Moonblessed with an easygoing burly grin before heading to a meeting with Magister Scientiae Alcmene. Grand Scientist Mayar and his team prepare for the return trip, repairing all units with the continued assistance of the Amegaharans The fox envoys that traveled with everyone can be seen taking the Oracles of the Sinless to the direction of their courthouse.
The next day before the Moonblessed and Lunatians head back, Lord Bairen will declare the successful progression of friendship between Lunatia and Amegahara. He announces that he and his people will work on creating a safe route between these two cities, allowing opportunities for trade, transport, cultural exchange, strengthened security, and much more. More details will be given at a later time, along with the results of the Moonblessed’s presence in Amegahara.

The control station has access to the emergency remote control in case pilots become mentally or physically incapacitated to continue flying. The staff will provide training and know-how for volunteers, teaching them about reading GPS, radars, and heat signatures.
A. The first test is pilot compatibility. As the GIGA requires at least two to three pilots, compatibility is very important. The neural cords cause the pilots’ minds to merge, allowing memories to blend together seamlessly or intimate thoughts to be shared. Pilots who are more likely to get along means it will be more effective to pilot the mecha together, but those who can’t resolve their differences will fail this test.
B. The second test is a practical field exercise. Pilots will be sent out to the training grounds at Moon Knights Headquarters to put their real skills to the test. The field exam is composed of an obstacle course on top of fighting designated targets. They must maneuver through difficult terrain such as dodging boulders or hovering through extremely narrow paths, confusing mazes, erupting lava, water tunnels, and many others while dealing with GIGA targets powered by AI.
These AIs are no pushovers! They are programmed to use military strategy and is armed with the same weapons as every other GIGA (yes, including yours) — a machine gun, gauss rifle, pulse laser, flamer, and missile cannon. All weapons have limited ammo, so once you’re out, you’ll end up heavily disadvantaged. GIGA units who are either unable to progress the course or are defeated by the AIs will fail this test.
As a side effect of lengthy use of neural cords, pilots may continue to hear stray thoughts or experience hallucinations derived from the minds of their co-pilots. This might make it a struggle to adjust to their surroundings or sleep comfortably tonight. A. These lifeless lands belie the dangers that lurk underground. Those who dip closer to the surface will be attacked by oversized sand serpents called whitesnakes — leaping up from the ground to sink their fangs into the GIGAs and knock them off-course. It's not love, but you can definitely feel it. These whitesnakes thrive on the mineral deposits buried below the surface, so they are easily attracted to strong chroma present on GIGA units as well as the Moonblessed themselves, and they will be aggressively diving upwards to attempt to feed off of you.
If your mecha happens to crash, do not panic! Remain near your GIGA to make it easier for others to track you down, and get ready to fight off a whole bevy of hungry serpents. Scientists from Lunar Scientia will immediately deploy to perform necessary emergency maintenance. The Moon Knights will be providing cover fire.
B. By evening, the signals connecting everyone to Lunatia’s control station grow weaker and weaker. The constant howling of something inhuman can be heard as it approaches quickly. Distant lightning in the clouds illuminate the outline of a gigantic dark figure, continuously drawing closer and closer until the most feared beast of the Nothing: Hideula unveils itself. Towering mountain high, the great titan is able to cast dark magic and will constantly attempt to swallow GIGA units within reach, showing the same attraction to chroma as the whitesnakes did. The Moonblessed will have to take it down quickly before it consumes them.
Those who lost their unit after the battle will have to transfer to another GIGA for the rest of the way. A. Housing for the Moonblessed are small flats, and much like the lanterns across the city, there is a blue glow that shimmers over the entire room. Perhaps it’s due to the influence of the Cordis moon, but the locals find the color very soothing. Each flat houses at least two Moonblessed — were you hoping to room by yourself? Sorry, not tonight! Furnitures include comfy futons and items made of pearl glass, such as decorative walls, lovely vases, fish bowls, and drinking glasses. The fish bowls are filled with goldfish and other mysterious aquatic creatures. Pressing your fingers against the glass will cause the little creatures within to change into vibrant colors which resonate the most with the person who touched it. Each flat comes with a cute companion guarding it — small crystallized foxes who will bite or yip at offenders who litter, cause damage, try to cook the aquatic creatures, or attempt to steal any of the glass furniture. But they can be befriended with some love! Doing so will cause them to follow you into every room with happy bounces (even the bathroom). They’ll even attack trespassers for you.
B. The Amegahara Emporium is open for visitors, one of the best places to learn more about this city’s culture, history, and tradition. In the lobby, there are food and refreshment stalls specializing in local delicacies, such as rainbow trout and more of the local’s favorite doughnuts. The vendor foxes will be eager to sell something to their beloved guests, “This is freshly cooked! Try these and this sauce together! It pairs well just as you two do!” They won’t leave you and your companion(s) alone until you eat or take-out at least one thing. The second floor contains a glass workshop selling pearl glass items (such as those found at the housing) and allows customers to try out glassblowing themselves. Try making your own item or accessory together with a special someone to commemorate today!
On the third floor, there is a treasured reading archive. The language is difficult to decipher at first sight, appearing as runes magically scrawled onto the scrolls. However, touching the runes will activate holographic images, which will provide you with some visual aids appropriate for group learning. The topics widely range from local cookbooks to passionate poems about doughnuts, manuals on different positions to achieve heightened states of intimacy (please do inquire about the ‘Amegaharan Doughnut’ position), quaint children’s books, the illusionist spells used by the foxes, recountings of their early days, and so on. It’s easy to find something for everyone.
According to the historical scrolls, the protective bubble dates all the way back to the period just after the Calamity. It’s an ancient magical barrier created by the elder foxes to protect their land and their people from the Calamity’s effects. It seems that the reason for the Oracles of the Sinless existence is an internal dispute among the Amegaharans, leading them to split into two factions. The Sinless were not in favor of the barrier and would rather sacrifice others to their god for protection than preserve it as the Conclave of Amegahara is doing.
