PLOTTING
QUICK LINKS navigation faq world moonblessings

This is a plotting post for our next event, which will also welcome our latest batch of arrivals! Due to personal commitments and time constraints on our end, we've pushed the actual event info post to May 25th. But due to popular demand, we've made this OOC post for all your plotting needs.

As always, you are free to backdate and backlog event threads for as long as you need.

How to Train your Dragon Tamagotchi

Legends recorded amongst vast historical texts tell of the former sovereigns of the land, the dragons who came from the continent of Cydrania, and the sovereigns of the stars, dragons who came from the floating kingdom known as Celestdrania. During the cataclysm, the dragons of Cydrania were forced to flee their home with the aid of the Celestdrania dragons. The remaining dragons shared what knowledge they could of the old world with the Prismal refugees (the first people of what we now know as Lunatia) to preserve their memories, though much of it still remains lost or confined to the minds of the most ancient dragon brood, living among the stars. While Cydrania remains uninhabitable, the descendants of the dragons of the land moved back into the mountain range surrounding Lunatia, known as Drasomnis.

After the three moons have waned, two large dragons arrive at Lunatia from Drasomnis carrying an abundant cradle of eggs upon their back. They speak in their draconic language with the Prismals, telling them that they have sensed the mass amount of chroma being produced by the Moonblessed and have come to request a favor. Their powers have grown weaker and felt unsteady for some moon cycles, and unlike the old world when chroma was more abundant, they need the aid of the Moonblessed to rekindle their energies. They want to entrust their youngest brood to the Moonblessed for a few evenings to see if their energy will help their eggs hatch as they fear losing the young within.
  1. The eggs emit a mysterious, pleasant scent from within that will trigger someone’s nurturing instincts and compel the Moonblessed to take care of them, enchanting the Moonblessed to become their (sometimes) reluctant chosen guardians. Each individual egg may end up with either one or multiple guardians. For three days, the chosen Moonblessed will think of the eggs as their children, protecting them and feeding them their own chroma through direct contact with the egg to keep them warm and alive. The guardians may even become extremely territorial over the eggs and react harshly to any and all who threaten their precious charge.

  2. Unfortunately, the eggs require heavy amounts of sustenance, and they will start draining massive amounts of chroma from anyone near them. Those affected will show signs of extreme fatigue, pale skin, bluer veins, loss of appetite, and at worst, crystallization of the limbs and skin, at times rendering them near immobile. Their canon and in-game powers will gradually become ineffective as well. The only way to mitigate these effects is through frequent and prolonged physical contact — that is, moonlacing — or asking more people to stay near the eggs to lessen the effects on a single person. In terms of effectiveness, hand-holding aids to a small extent, embraces even more, but full on sexual intimacy will be able to provide a significant increase in energy completely for all three days.

  3. By the end of the third day, underneath the moon’s light, the eggs start to hatch. The baby dragons within will take on a moonblessing of one of their guardians as well as a combination of their prominent physical features and temperament. This means if one of their guardians is quick to anger and commit violence, so will the dragon; if a guardian can cast ice magic because of the influence of Cordis moon, the dragon can, too; if a guardian has blue eyes, so will the dragon; and so on. It’s up to you to incorporate these features however you desire.

Burninating the Countryside

With all the chroma being siphoned by the infant dragons en masse, their growth slips out of control, causing them to increase in size at an alarming rate. The larger they are, the more chroma they take from the city. Lunar Scientia soon announces that the dragons cannot remain in Lunatia because the city environment is unsuitable for them. They are not only making the population ill, but they are uncontrollable. The wild antics of these adorable dragons include biting people, hunting livestock, chewing through gardens, setting objects ablaze, roaring loudly at odd hours, and tenderly fondling motor vehicles thinking they are other dragons. Thankfully, the Prismals learned a thing or two from the Vinea vehementi attack two months ago and prepared for this outcome.

Shortly after the announcement, Moon Knights round up the Moonblessed (guardians or not) and request that the dragons be transported back to their natural habitat. This is a dangerous undertaking as they will have to leave the city for the first time and venture to the Outer Plains. Don’t worry! You will be accompanied by both Moon Knights and scientists from the Lunar Scientia. (The dragon scientist on the team will insist that they are a draconologist, but everyone tends forget that.) They will provide aid as well as the appropriate gear.
  1. The conditions right now are too harsh for these baby creatures to fly in, and there is only one airplane big enough to accommodate a bunch of dragons. If you’re acrophobic, prepare to be in for a long and uncomfortable ride as you squeeze in between a bunch of dragons and try to keep them (and yourself) calm for the entire trip. Many will continue to bite, scratch, and shed scales or fur everywhere. Or you could be the lucky Moonblessed with the dragon who just sleeps peacefully all the time. The Prismal crew hands out flight meals with apologetic expressions. They got careless as some dragons have eaten through the food supplies. As a result, there isn’t enough for everyone so be prepared to share!

  2. The airplane is too large and has nowhere to land atop the mountains, it makes its landing on a nearby plateau. It’s up to the Moonblessed to coerce their dragons to fly them to the top which may take some edibles and niceties. Local fauna can be hunted down and flora such as fruits, mushrooms, and nuts can be foraged. If you’re not certain which is safe to eat or not, anyone is free to approach the Prismals for questions. The dragons will have similar food preferences to their guardians so it’s easy to find out what’s best what to feed them. But sometimes, food won’t be enough. Remember: dragons are hoarders, and like parent, like child! If a guardian loves being covered in kittens or collecting trading cards, who’s to say their dragon doesn’t?

  3. Beware of the wild. The Prismal in-flight crew will tell you about the fauna of the Outer Plains. The chrysadillos are huge crystal-covered armadillos that can turn into a ball to try and flatten any threats to its environment on instinct. Silver, saber-toothed felines known as the lightning cats are lone hunters that move at record-breaking speeds. Black hawks called umbris hawks will swoop down at random to try and knock people off the dragons. Also, there are flying sharks called terra sharks that don’t need water. Ask about the logic behind the name and the Prismals will simply shrug. These carnivorous creatures will devour any type of meat in their path. Except the chrysadillos — they just really like ants.

Obligatory Hot Spring Episode

Once at Drasomnis’ highest mountain, the snow-covered peak holds the beautiful Kingdom of Lyestellus, a thriving castletown controlled by powerful draconic beings who can turn humanoid at will. Their ruler is King Shiryn Lyei Drastellus XIII. After the envoy party from Lunatia presents an official gift from Queen Elara, Drastellus XIII addresses their special guests with a kind expression. Once the baby dragons are returned, the king will bequeath onto each of the Moonblessed a single Drastelle blossom which will grant the Moonblessed a draconic blessing. He will also arrange proper lodgings and hospitality among their vast holdings. Their rooms will be bubble-shaped dwellings surrounding a breathtaking mountain spring.

  1. Take a dip with someone in the moonlit pools. These are a series of natural hot springs that are known to have magical properties during the evenings. When the moon casts its glow over the waters, those inside will be mysteriously compelled to reveal some truths about themselves. It may be something innocent as a crush or it may be something more sinister like a dead body stowed away in someone's basement. It can even be of the more salacious kind, such as some form of intimacy that's always been lingering at the back of your mind that you would like to try.

  2. Several maidens will prepare tea with the Drastelle blossoms gifted to them by the king. For those who consume the Drastelle blossom tea, they will notice something strange occuring during their next moon cycle. Regardless of their original moonblessing, they will obtain temporary, one-time only draconic traits.
    • The moons will appear emerald green to the eyes of those affected instead of their original color.

    • Appearance shifts will include either full dragon transformation (nothing larger than a double decker bus or smaller than a chameleon) or humanoid with draconic horns, scales, tails, or wings. Humanoids may experience an increase in physical height (12ft or less).

    • The blessing will grant them with wind magic. They are now capable of casting small gusts of air that can be soft like a breeze or sharp enough to cause mild slice.

    • Their personality traits reflect that of the majestic, dignified and disciplined dragon. They are now calm, stern, and charismatic at best, while lazy, passive and overbearing at worst.

    • Their charming voices have the magical power of suggestion. By speaking or singing, their voice can influence or coerce others into doing their bidding. They can even command plants to grow better or faster! Useful for haggling for lower prices or getting someone to hang out with you. You might even be able to deliberately arouse or bring others to orgasm. The more willing the listener is, the better its effects. (Remember to ask permission from other players before doing this!)
These effects will become active only through the Moonblessed’s designated lunar cycle (i.e. if your character is a Sanguis moonblessed, it will only be available on Sanguis’ lunar cycle.) Reminder this is only a temporary, one time blessing, which means it will only occur ICly once. You may have it active either during a specific moon’s cycle OR during the three-moon cycle.

Hey, so this says that the dragons take on the magic of the person who nurtured them. What if that person had a magic inside of them that wasn't theirs?

Lavellan, for example, has the remnants of an ancient elven mage's power inside of his body which is still slowly killing him. When used correctly this magic is kind of green and glowy and gives its wielder kind of a magic boost? The Dread Wolf planned on using it to fundamentally change the fabric of their reality and kill everyone around so, you know, it could be powerful stuff. Lavellan just has the linger effect of it on him, as most of it was removed when he lost his arm, but the dragon might still be able to respond to it. I was thinking, if the baby dragon picked up some of that too it could:

1 - Alleviate some of Cyril's chronic pain that he pretends isn't there as it siphons off the Dread Wolf's magic.
2 - Act as a power boost to any magic the baby picks up from any other "parent" Moonblessed. Like if he co-guardians with someone with magic powers the powers that the baby gets from that other guardian would have a bit more of a kick to it?

I am not sure how on board you guys would be with this? Let me know what you think!

How would the (baby and adult) dragons handle someone(s) who already have their own dragons? Since Hanzo and Genji have theirs, I'd like to know if there's anything fun we can play around with that, lol.

How big do the dragons get on average? Asking since one of the traits I'd like Cehd'ra's to inherit is being small for his kind.

I didn't realize until the game started how easy it'd be to confuse Tilly here with a Prismal since she's a sparkle dragon who turns into a humanoid furry

AND NOW AN EVENT WHERE WE MEET DRAGONS WHO TURN INTO HUMANOIDS

So I guess my question is if this event's gonna affect dragons (full blooded or not) in any particular way and also how the people of Lyestellus will react to them, especially Tilly.

hi mods!! i was just curious, do you have an idea of what dates this log would cover? i'm basically wondering if the sanguis moon on june 1st would happen in the midst of this event, or after it ended and people returned to lunatia.

thank you!

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone who fully transformed into a dragon with the Drastelle tea would still be able to speak in dragon form?

How smart are the newly hatched dragons? Dog-like? Toddler-like?

Would "physical features" potentially mean having patterns similar to a parent's fashion sense? (Can Archer's dragon have butterfly-patterned wings?)

Hi there! I saw that Euphemia seeds from the Ware Wolf Shop are difficult to cultivate at home and are guarded by dragons. But I also see that one of the dragon traits for this event is encouraging plants to grow! If planted on an apartment balcony (either at the beginning of the month or during the event), would they be able to grow during the time this trait is in effect? What would happen to the flowers after? (Would they ever yield more seeds?)
