The labor exchange program has come to an end. The skyway — called the DraCometae (the Comet for short) — to the Kingdom of Lyestellus is now open, allowing for an easy, scenic travel to the Drasomnis mountains. From Lunatia, one can ride a train to the snowy mountain’s base and ascend in a lift to reach the dragon kingdom.

As a result of the labor exchange program, the people of Lyestellus and Lunatia have grown closer. The people of Lunatia can expect to see more and more dragons populating the skies and hanging about the city, settling down and selling their wares.

Several days later, serene draconian songs fill the evening air as the dragons serenade their mates. On screens and devices everywhere, the King of Lystellus addresses the people of Lunatia with a straight face:

Greetings, Lunatia. First of all, I would like to applaud the completion of the DraCometae Skyway and thank the Prismals and Moonblessed who made this possible. Never in my life did I think I would live to see the day our people could stand side by side with Lunatians.

That said, I would like to inform the public regarding our kind’s activity as of late. I do deeply apologize for the noise. However, please don’t be alarmed. My people are in the midst of their mating season, hence the prevalence of our dragon songs. It is how our kind expresses their readiness for a mate.

To explain to the Moonblessed: though many species require both a male and female to reproduce, dragons may reproduce regardless of physical sex. That is not to say we do not have our own mating groups. When dragons reach their maturity, you can say we develop secondary traits and designate ourselves as such: Astella, Bystella, Ostella. Hopefully, they won’t cause you much trouble.

As the songs increase in vocalization, the resonance may become harder to ignore, especially to those with exalted Sanguis traits who will be more sensitive and affected by the sounds.

A spot behind your ears gradually pulses with a strange glow regardless of whether you are a Sanguis, Cordis, or Iris, displaying one among three runes associated with the three kinds of Lystellan dragons. This rune causes the Moonblessed to exhibit urges and mating behaviors typically associated with their corresponding Lystellan dragon group.

 A  Astella (α): Like Astella dragons, affected Moonblessed will be on the search for a compatible Ostella Moonblessed to mate with. To attract their mate, their typical behaviors include possessively marking their mate by biting or building makeshift nests with their mate’s favorite things, and they may even develop strong voyeuristic tendencies when it comes to spotting an Ostella they desire. They will also become territorial, aggressive, and sometimes even violent against other people in an effort to lay claim to their Ostella Moonblessed and their mating habitat.

They can communicate telepathically with Ostella Moonblessed they have mated with, able to see and read all their thoughts, and will feel a deep bond with them. This bond does not come with a filter. They will also share emotions and sensations with their mates. If you feel angry, so will they. If you’re getting stabbed in an alley, chances are they feel that too!

Bystella (β) : Like Bystella dragons, affected Moonblessed will only become mildly responsive to the songs. They will feel compelled to be more affectionate than usual with other Moonblessed, regardless of what marks they have. Some Bystella Moonblessed may develop exhibitionist tendencies, wearing revealing clothing or elaborate costumes or harboring the urge to pleasure themselves repeatedly for others to watch.

If the Bystella Moonblessed successfully kiss or hug a Moonblessed, they can swap powers or talents. For example: if a Bystella Moonblessed who is proficient in fire magic kisses a singer, said Bystella will become good at singing at the expense of their magical abilities. In the same vein, the singer they kissed will lose their singing talent but gain the ability to create fireballs. What better way to bond with someone than to spend a day in their shoes? The Moonblessed can only get their original powers or talents back by kissing or hugging again or until the effects subside at the end of the month.

Ostella (Ω): Like Ostella dragons, affected Moonblessed will desire a mate — or at least someone who will give them validation. Ostella Moonblessed will gradually go into a feverish heat and release pheromones to attract such a partner. They will also sing melodies or genres unlike what they are used to, or speak in a register that can only attract and affect Astella Moonblessed, making them just as aroused or attention-starved as themselves. The longer they go without relief, the more lethargic, aroused, or clingy they will be until they are unable to suppress their primal instincts. They will only calm down once they have moonlaced with at least one Astella Moonblessed.

They can communicate telepathically with Astella Moonblessed they have mated with. For more details, please refer to the Astella section.

If you are looking for information on dragon mating, you are welcome to consult your local library or bookstore or look up fanciful nature documentaries online. Look out for questionable search results containing porn links or fake information! All effects will wear off naturally at the end of the month.

Moonblessed will also begin to find dragon eggs cropping up all over Lyestellus and Lunatia in the most peculiar places as a result of all the mass breeding. Some might be hilariously mixed in a bird’s nest. Others might find your apartment the perfect place to call home. Their shells glow vividly as they emit strange sounds that attract even more dragons to Lunatia. These dragons soon crowd the city, many of them gathering in public areas like parks, intersections, and train stations. They will be very hostile if anyone approaches the eggs, breathing fire if not delivering a few warning bites. Expect heavy traffic and large dragons sleeping on their rooftops or on your bed until their eggs hatch.

A sudden earthquake shocks the entire city, causing even skyscrapers to sway violently. Prismals rush to warn everyone to seek refuge under desks or in doorways as the earthquake increases in intensity. It knocks the power out, but it’s not just your building that’s lost its light. An eclipse seems to have formed in the sky, but upon raising your head, you see it is not the moon that blocks the sun. It is a giant, majestic dragon whose presence signals all dragons to lift their heads in reverence and start singing.

The giant dragon’s ballad creates a magical resonance in all Prismals and Moonblessed, telling them to call her name: Lyestella, the mother of all dragons. Lyestella has been sleeping underground since the Calamity. She is a peaceful and benevolent dragon who has now awakened to the sudden surge of Chroma from all the mating and moonlacing by Moonblessed and dragons alike. As she is newly awakened, her memories are still hazy. She will need some time to recover. For now, she is led to the nearby forests so she can rest.

As a result of Lyestella’s awakening, you can now explore the large dragon-shaped crater near the foot of Drasomnis. The crater has several ancient carvings along its stone outcroppings that are magically animated when Chroma is produced in front of them.

 B  A small act of moonlacing, such as a kiss or holding hands, will show the legend of Lyestella’s battle against the wrathful beast, Basti, and her sorrowful defeat. Another stone relief features the lion-faced beast of pride, Majestas, embracing his satyr lover, Lunae. When Chroma is released in front of them, the relief moves to show the two of them making love and creating small winged griffin-like beasts that begin attacking an old city en masse. There will also be statues that will crumble and fall as a result of the moving carvings, so watch out!

All interested Moonblessed are welcome to aid in excavating the city area below called Neuhr Ellysti. Tasks include collecting pottery shards or digging ancient bones of dragons and Prismals, old jewelry, and weapons. Most of which are broken beyond use and have no magical properties left. They are pretty though, and hold significant historical value for the dragons and Prismals alike. You may submit these artifacts to Lyestellus Kingdom’s museums for a generous Demichroma reward, an all-expenses-paid overnight stay at one of Lyestellus’ most luxurious hotels (featuring a romantic evening buffet), and a cute dragon plushie to gift your loved one.

If you venture deep enough into the old city, you will encounter screaming banshees and specters of the dead, eternally trapped in their final moments. Attempting to communicate with them will only result in more of their agonized screams — screams which may scramble with your hearing or may interfere with your ability to understand the common Prismal tongue. This will leave you only able to speak and understand your native language. The effects will last up to an entire day.

LYESTELLA ▶ As stated on the log, she is currently resting. Until she is in better health, she cannot be conversed with.

RUNES ▶ ICly, the type of rune that will appear on your character is random. OOCly, the rune your character will receive is up to you. Please note that these runes will not necessarily correspond with a Moonblessed’s Moonblessing! (i.e. Sanguis may end up as an Ostella, Iris may end up as Astella, etc.) Even outside of the moon cycles, there is a chance those affected by runes can have their corresponding moonblessings active during the entire event.

TELEPATHY AND MIND READING ▶ Like any other prompt, characters can opt out of this entirely if they would rather just play with mating behaviors. Please make sure everyone has consented before using these themes.

SMUT ▶ Though the main themes of the event are related to mating, you do NOT have to play out any smut if participating. Similar to optional smut themes in moonblessing traits, you may also adapt the runes to your comfort and enjoyment. For example, courting a mate may entail singing bad romance songs at them or sending them gifts instead of possessively marking them. Territorial fights may not necessarily be bloody, and instead may consist of board games or rock-paper-scissors.

MATING ▶ All characters are still sterile and will not actually be able to reproduce at all. However, if you wish to lay blank eggs that crack open to reveal beautiful Chroma flowers or a Chroma tree inside or play with the idea of pregnancy, by all means. Should your character become pregnant, they will lay a soft, round egg patterned with a floral or glassy-looking shell once it’s released on June 30th. Experiment your hearts out. This is a judgment-free zone. Yes, you may keep the flowers or trees to raise together with your partners.

I'd like to ask how much effect would calming music (with powers) have on a. the dragons being Extra over the eggs, and b. the banhsee/dead? I'm assuming fully calming down is unlikely, more along the lines of moderate/slight but enough for people to evacuate unharmed/none at all..

The dragons and their eggs adore calming music! The music will calm them and put them in a better mood for sure.

The banshees and specters are impossible to pacify, but they can't stand calming music. Hearing this music will make them flee or wail in agony. You might want to escape while they're busy writhing in pain...

OH and another question, re the languages: would people who have known more languages before coming to Prisma (or have been learning other languages here) lose those languages too, or only common prismal?

Moonblessed will not lose the languages they canonically know. Moonblessed are blessed with the power to automatically understand and speak Prismal upon arrival. They simply lose this power during the event should you wish to participate!

How big are the dragonlets at this point? Would they also try to hitch rides into Lunatia to help nest guard with parents, or just best guard in general?

The dragonlets from the TDM are still small! It will take at least three or four more months before they can learn how to fly. They will still remain in their coops until then.

If the guardian Moonblessed has permission from the dragon parents, then they may bring the dragonlet they're babysitting to Lunatia.

Say persons A and B swapped powers. If either were to come into contact with yet another Bystella, could those powers pass onto the third person C, too? Can the swapping go on for a long, messy chain or are they safe to hug/kiss others aside from the original swap partner?

hello mods i still love you a very normal amount. i do have a couple of questions, for clarity's sake:

1. are Astellas compelled to mate and bond to only one Ostella, or are more partners possible?
2. would they be able to share one or the other (e.g. an Astella who bonds with two Ostellas at the same time, or two Astellas who overcome their differences and agree to share/take turns with one Ostella), or is it limited to only couples?
3. if it's not limited, would all three of them share the same bond and telepathic use, or is it strictly a two-way arrangement?

tl;dr are threesomes and moresomes possible with Astellas and Ostellas, and do they all share the same bond if so? let me know ;)

1. Yes, multiple partners are possible. Astellas and Ostellas aren't limited to one mate! We leave how many mates your character wants/needs up to you.

2. We leave that up to you. Generally, the Astellas are competitive and would likely end up fighting each other first before they can think of peacefully arranging something that works for them.

3. Yes, this is possible if their mutual bonds are strong enough.

I'm assuming if Wrathion took his Dragon form and flew up (not to nests, he's not that stupid, just into the sky with them!) to investigate they'd mostly ignore him since he's not native. However thought I'd confirm, since he's Sanguis & Astella for this and it occurred to me he might trigger territorial behaviour while being nosy.

Hi! Just wanted to ask about the power swapping and if something like one's Persona would be a part of the swapping. As a Persona is generally tied to someone's soul/'other self', I'm not sure if it would be something that could temporarily swap. But I'd be cool with it if it was, hence why I want to ask for your modly wisdom. Persona-users don't really have any powers other than the ability to call on a Persona, as even the skills/magic are used by the Persona, not the person.

Wild Cards (which Kasumi is not) can wield more than one, but non-wild cards cannot use more than one, as the one they use is tied closely to their soul.

Got a few questions to ask!

1. When the mother dragon introduces herself via singing to everyone -- does everyone intuitively understand her or is it done telepathically through images? Kinda how vocaloid songs tell a story through music sort of deal.

2. Can characters keep something they like in the Neuhr Ellysti excavation campaign or will there be consequences other than not getting paid for their time? Also, what if they donate everything else they find but not the one item they wish to keep?

3. For emotionally sensitive characters or those with connections with the supernatural, what kind of emotions will the banshees and specters give off to the characters after screaming at them other than the effect of cutting off their prismal translator?
