PROMPTS

A. Harvest Moon Simulator:

(1a)
[ The hustle and excitement that had taken over the city was a little overwhelming. Cassandra was used to lonely forest roads and small, rundown towns that made it easy to find your traveling companions should you be separated. Being on another world aside, the city was huge. If her friends where here, well. Finding them would be a lot harder than usual.

She tried to walk quickly through one of the crowded shrines, but kept getting stopped and offered a bracelet ‘for her protection.’ ]

Thanks but no thanks, I can protect myself just fine.

[ But after the third encounter with a Prismal handing out bracelets, well, she finally just takes one with a huff. ] Okay, okay, I’ll take one. Now just let me through. [ Maybe now they would leave her to search in peace. ]

[ While she may have taken one of the bracelets, she doesn’t plan on actually wearing it. Instead she’s got it clenched in one hand as she lets out a sharp whistle. At the sound, an Owl starts circling up above, and she raises her arm to allow him to perch. ]

Anything?

[ As if understanding the question, the Owl shakes his head. Cassandra sighs. ]

Me either. I got this thing, though. It’s apparently for protection. I’m not sure how a bracelet is supposed to help protect someone, but I figured I could take out most of the links and see how it fits around your leg. What do you think of that?

[ The Owl just hoots, and Cassandra sits down somewhere a little less populated to start removing the little silver links. ]

[ Cassandra knows absolutely nothing about plants, taking care of plants, or planting trees, but even so she found herself in possession of one of the Meas seeds. She had scoffed a little at the wishes tidbit. There were things she wanted of course; To go home, to fix her hand, to finally be the one who gets the glory...but none of those things could be granted by wishing on a seed.

She tries to casually glance around at some of the other people, to see if they were doing anything special while planting the seeds. Not that she would be able to tell one way or another. It all just looked like gardening to her.

With a sigh, she kneels to start digging. ]

Do I just...drop it in and cover it?

[ It’s not aimed at anyone in particular, but she’s definitely looking around again in the hopes of receiving some inspiration. ]

(3)
[ Aside from getting back home, there wasn’t anything she wanted more in Lunatia than to participate in the tournament. The only problem is...well. She knows she’s not going to get very far with her hand the way it is, and she doesn’t want to enter only to be immediately beaten.

So all she can do is train. She slips off to somewhere she hopes is secluded enough where she won’t be interrupted, and starts to throw everything she’s got into trying to push through the pain in her arm and get back into shape.

She manages to get through a few swings before her arm seizes up and she drops her sword with a soft hiss of pain.

She’s not about to give up, though. Once the pain subsides she picks up the sword only to drop it again after a few swings, and again, and again, and again until she breaks out in a cold sweat and very nearly hurls her sword in bitter frustration. ]

Come on Cassandra, you can do this.

[ You’ve been training your whole life. You can’t let this mistake set you back.

She grits her teeth and picks up her sword. ]

B. Just Like Animals:

[ Of course she never put on the bracelet. She doesn’t even have it anymore, considering she took it apart link by link to create something else. She doesn’t realize that the bracelets were supposed to help with calming the effects of the moons. She has no idea about any of it, really.

So she’s taken by surprise as she grows more and more anxious over the course of the day, culminating in her gasping for breath as she feels herself changing. Sharp canines and sharp nails, Koi scales contrasting the sharpness with elegant designs across her skin. She doesn’t know what to do with these changes or what to think, so she’ll turn to anyone who approaches with a snarl, anger leaping up so much easier than usual. ]

Explain what’s going on. Now.
