PROMPTS

i. day 1-2 (tournament)
[He’s only been here a little more than a month, and already it seems like they’re having festivals on a fairly regular basis. 76 can’t say he likes it, but at least it’s a good glimpse into how society here normally functions, plant invasions notwithstanding. Observing is fine. Partaking is not something he’s ready to do.

Suffice to say, he doesn’t wear the bracelet—why should he trust anything the Prismals give him? Besides, it all sounds like superstition to him. As soon as it’s handed over, he’s pocketing it, presumably to think no further about it.

Then, he goes to the tournament. He’s a more than capable fighter, but 76 doesn’t like the performative aspect of it, so he’s content to sit on the sidelines and watch. And heckle. Like he thinks he can do better, or something.
]

He calls that a swing?

[76 is talking to himself, clearly, but it’s certainly loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.]
ii. day 3 (queen’s arrival)
[76 will brave the festivities if it means getting some answers about the government of this place—it seems like the queen is a figurehead, but she’s likely to make an appearance flanked by important officials. He’d do well to note who they are and what they look like, filing the information away so he can make moves later.

He understands, on some level, that it’s probably unwise to show up to a place like this in all his tactical gear, so he forgoes it for now. It’s about as incognito as he gets, and he’s banking on the fact that most people won’t make the connection between a physically able vigilante in military gear and an ordinary older man. The scars might be something of a giveaway, but they’re not really something he’s interested in doing anything about.

So he makes his way through the celebrations like an ordinary citizen, though he takes it all in with a certain degree of skepticism.
]

No. I’m not gonna tell you again.

[The Prismal that’s trying to offer him flowers in crown and brooch form looks positively downtrodden at being refused, but it doesn’t look like 76 is going to back down for anyone else’s feelings.]
i. day 4
[He knows, now, that he should have listened to the Prismals, but it’s a little too late for that. His first transformation had left some of his faculties—enough for him to pull his punches if he really didn’t want to hurt someone. This is something else entirely, but he barely even has time to think about where the bracelet is or that it needs to go on before it’s too late.

The potency of the moons leaves 76 truly monstrous, pushing him further over the edge and leaving him all claws and fangs and scales and coiled muscle. The physical toll of the transformation and the influence of Sanguis renders him relatively feral, enough that he’s definitely going to try and fight you if you think it’s a good idea to get close.

The good news is that his current state means he’s very good at beating up the escapees. It’s not hard to miss the Cerberus throwing down with some kind of snake-like humanoid, if only for the fact that neither seem particularly concerned with any collateral damage. Jump into help? Dodge building rubble? The choice is yours.

i. day 4 (aftermath)
[Eventually, the moons set, and 76 is left with the knowledge that, yet again, he lost control of himself for the duration. This time it was worse, . Something about this has to give, but for once, he’s not sure where to start—he just can’t accept that this place is going to do this to his body again and again. He’s loath to resign himself to it, but at this point he’s not sure what else there is to do.

He should be making the rounds to apologize, but instead he stows his gear once again and heads out to hit the bottle. It won’t hide him from the people who already know him, but at the very least he feels incognito—just another face at a bar.

With little regard for his chroma reserves, he gets to drinking, reacting with vague hostility if and when anyone locks eyes with him. Still, the anger seems to be halfhearted, more exasperated than anything.
]

I ain’t in the mood.
