[he's found a place to live, and although he's not entirely sure that he buys into this place being his new home, he's found himself doing what he has to do to get by: survive, acclimate, adapt. he's seen it all: sweaty subway rides, humans who turn into faunus and back into humans again, arcades- so much of this place is like home, only it's been shaken through a vividly transposing kaleidoscope. it hasn't quite sunk in that this might be it for him, Lunatia and everything that it encompasses may be the end of the line in his journey, but it doesn't mean he's not an upstanding citizen.
he's grateful for all the city has given him and for the people who have taken him in when he had no place to go. for the small things, for the big things, and all the misshapen things that happen to fall in between.
this place in the spring... it's kind of beautiful, and he can't even deny that.
so a little community service is on the docket; it's the least he can do. he's got seeds, a spade, and a lot of time and energy to make this work. currently digging a hole that's a little too deep for the type of flower that will grow here, he drops a cluster of three into the shallow he's bored out. Jaune closes his eyes and wonders if he can use his Aura to unlock the life inside them, but to anyone else on the outside, it looks like he's struggling, caught somewhere between a sneeze and a yawn.
which is, of course, a perfect time to yell at him for being weird.
alternatively, he's happy to just have company while he does the task at all. at some point, he'll look up from the work that you two have done, and he'll smile widely enough in his pride that it's hard not to believe he's a descendant of the sun- and then comment about how there's some dirt on your cheek and oh, he can fix that- just give him a second as he leans.]
2. [day 2-4] dancing in the moonlight
[this ironically is not the first time Jaune Arc has been in a dress and wound up dancing in front of a crowd of people. he had signed up to participate- listen, he actually enjoyed the movements behind it when he saw the shrine maidens practicing in a park- and the choice he was offered was between dressing up in a broken looking dragon suit or something that was a little more easy, breezy, beautiful cover boy.
he thinks about it for a second.
this dragon costume seriously looks like it had been through the ringer. probably has the stank of another person still inside it, and the mask is missing an eye. it's missing? an eye? looks like the dress will do. the shrine maidens giggle as they help him into it, and aside from his muscular form, it doesn't look terrible.
or, maybe it does look terrible and they're too nice to say anything about it. he has to stay in his combat boots since the shoes don't really fit right, but it's fine. it's no big deal. Jaune learns the dance pretty easily; it's rhythmic and simple, and one of those types that looks infinitely better when many people are doing it at the same time. he's mastered it.
over the next two days, he'll be in costume, preparing for the dance. during the parade, he takes the performance incredibly seriously, but when it's all over, he looks proud as ever. he'd look adorable in a flower crown right about now, but in the meantime? he's ducking out to grab something to drink. he's parched.
whether he runs into you- literally or figuratively- he'll scratch the back of his head and offer a sheepish sort of smile.]
Sorry, I-... [his flowing trail of cloth is picked up by a kid as they threateningly look to maypole him in place.] Hey, what are you doing?
3. [day 4, later] pumpkin pete (bunny transformation)
[you might be wondering how he ended up in this mess.
unfortunately, he had no idea what was going on with the silver bracelets and no one told him that he had to wear it. thinking that the abundance of them on pretty much everyone was just something that people got for living here for a while, and that he was a newbie, he didn't really think anything of it. and there he was, the parade finally coming to a close and the queen performing her mystical ceremony that he... didn't really understand. it felt like a pretty neat festival to celebrate the spring's arrival, and all in all, Jaune felt pretty good about the entire thing.
except as he walks home, still adorned in the costume he was given to work with, he catches sight of his own shadow up against the wall of a building- and something's incredibly off about the picture. Jaune looks, tilting his head, as he squints and runs his hands up the side of his head. and here comes the string of anxiety at not feeling ears where his ears should be. his hands glide up, and there they are: a set of rabbit's ears at the top of his head.
that ear piercing scream? that's Jaune, distressed.]
What's happening to me!?
[he looks behind him- is that a tail? that's definitely a tail. it'd hidden itself well under the layers of scarf that he was wearing, and as he continues freaking out, he's just discovered that he's been blessed by the pull of Iris.]
I DON'T WANNA BECOME PUMPKIN PEEEETE.
