What becomes more urgent is the falling debris. Noticing a huge chunk of the roof caving in right down above them, Akira yells to a person nearby to get their attention.]

He's heading for the exit when his body is suddenly convulsed by a splitting pain, sending him to his knees. Huge, leathery bat wings tear from his shoulders with a pain he's never felt before, torn skin and muscle showering him blood. He snarls in agony as more wings appear, seemingly all over his body -- from his arms, his ankles, his head, more along his torso.
Red. He can only see red. In the haze of pain and confusion, he has only the demonic instincts to lash out, or fuck something, even both. And those he was once helping are suddenly targets: eyes blank white, blood sluicing from his skin, he drags himself to his feet and lunges for the nearest bystander with a bestial roar.]
