Character Name: Inuzuka Shino Canon: Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun, or The Eight Dogs of the East Info:Character Information Post. Long and short: Shino is a devoted, somewhat bratty guy who feels everything intensely and died five years ago, lived by accepting a demon sword being bound to his life, and now has been chasing beads across (possibly) Taisho Era Imperial Japan, as you do. For those canon familiar, his curse on not aging has been lifted coming into Prismatica! Moonblessing: Iris! He'll have no visible signs until you touch his skin and learn he's bioluminscent reactive to touch. Trace literal patterns on his skin! I have no idea how anyone's going to learn this, please someone figure this out!
Desired CR:
A roommate or several because he's never lived alone and doesn't thrive living alone. He's a very neat and clean person, but he doesn't have any particular cooking knowledge outside of "boil water to make tea."
Anyone from other religious affiliations because while he's not particularly Church faithful (he knows too many of the littler gods that God is jealous of, so to speak) he's been raised by the Church for the last five years.
Friends he can skinship with because he's that ridiculous and he will drape, touch, sleep on, and otherwise casually space invade with anyone he's firmly comfortable with, and he's got no one here.
On a related note, to quote Genpachi on Shino from circa chapter 41,
"Even though Nui loved her family and loved me, she had no confidence to be loved. I was the same. That’s why I understand her. But Shino. You’re different, aren’t you? You’re not living to be loved. You’re living because you want to love those that you love with everything you’ve got. That’s why I became interested in you."
Shino needs people in his life to love and pour his love into, because that has always been a driving motivation for himself.
People who can train him to fight with Murasame as a katana because while Murasame allows him fighting capabilities it's very, very sad how much Shino lacks in this category! He'll whine and complain even as he won't give up, though, so there's... that...
Fellow demon friends! Or god friends! Shino firmly considers himself human, but everything about him feels and is demonic because his lifeforce and Murasame are integrated. Godly levels of demonic, because Murasame's nature is just that confusing for literally everyone. (He can destroy demons and gods alike, that Murasame.) However, Shino prefers giving demons (and gods) the benefit of the doubt, if not the correct respect, and enjoys their company when not trying to kill him or his important people.
Honestly, anything, these were just some of the things off the top of my head, I'm also absolutely happy with Negative CR if anyone wants to demon slay stalk Shino around or anything of the kind!
Okay also someone to figure out Shino is touch-reactive bioluminscent during Iris, since I'll likely play light on most traits out of kindness for the poor guy.
Future Plans: For now it's just building him strong bonds with new friends because that's necessary for his mental health; I'd be curious if anyone wants to deal with Shino's demon eating someone after having near-fatally or fatally attacking Shino if/when there's an event that creates that opportunity. Largely this also means dealing with pseudo-vampiric Shino in the aftermath, depending on how severe the injury was. Otherwise most of what I'm doing with him is playing it by ear!
Smut Preferences: None at the moment. Shino is canonically thick. He skinships with anyone he's friendly with, and he kind of skipped out on having to deal with the introduction of awkward teenager hormones so now he just has them and has zero familiarity with this new reality (both for brain and body chemistry), so that's fun, right? Laughs into my hands. Right now it seems unlikely he'll be jumping in bed with anyone in a carnal sense. (He will, however, potentially invade your bed for cuddles, so There's That.) I'm personally open to M/M, M/F, M/All Things, but it's probably more likely to be in a dedicated relationship unless having outside factors/events/moonphases weighing in, and even then he'd be checking back in on those people because he's not one to just walk away.
Other: Since his voice actor is Tetsuya Kakihara he shares a voice (and can actually canonically sing, too, the one song he knows by heart) with Ensemble Stars! Subaru Akehoshi along with way too many more since Tetsuya Kakihara is strong and in many different anime and video games! Feel free to play with that (should anyone want to), and also... get Shino to sing the one (1) song he knows. He sang it and this helped a sad old man pass away in peace. As you do.
